Trivia #5:
Green Tea Prevents Alzheimer’s disease
For good memory... drink tea!
Green tea was especially the focus of
a 2004 study of the University of Newcastle on Alzheimer’s disease. Laboratory
studies have now proven that green tea prevents the breaking down of acetylcholine, a
neurotransmitter that is strongly linked with memory.
Once acetylcholine breaks down, there
will be no more strong connection with memories and the ability to remember
things. Since this is what specifically green tea prevents, it does a great job
to prevent the occurrence of Alzheimer’s disease that usually comes with old
age.
It also inhibits an enzyme called
beta-secretase which are protein deposits linked with Alzheimer’s disease. The
effectiveness and capability of green tea as an anti-Alzheimer’s disease tea
has also been recorded by Japanese researches after particular studies conducted.
There you go! Do me a favor and drink tea at least once a day! It may be green tea or other herbal teas of your choice!
